Iraq
Bremer issued a bushel of new edicts, almost 100 of them, tossed the keys to Iraq into Allawi's lap two days ahead of schedule and hightailed his Gucci-and-combat-boot-clad self out of the country, post-haste. Between Negroponte and Allawi, my guess is elections will go out the window and - minus a couple of thousand bodies later - Iraq will be back exactly where Saddam left off.
A plus for the current American administration is that the wretched country will now do the decent thing and disappear from the headlines. With the help of the oh so compliant American press, who would much rather focus on whether Kerry has had Botox injections or the level of wealth his wife enjoys.
Now, for the elections in America. May the Americans regain their common sense and vote this idiot and his neocon entourage from office in overwhelming numbers. Four more years of him, and we will without any doubt be entangled in a world war of epic proportions, as he will invade more countries. This I do not doubt. A fanatic missionary, which the man basically is, he believes so strongly in his faith's world view that he would shape it into that image.

Bush
So, he swings by Ireland and blithely declares an end to Western rifts over Iraq:
"The bitter differences of the war are over"
No, they are not. Believe me, they are not.
As many governments will notice at the next elections.
The arrogance, the unbelievable hubris of the man.
He found the time to poke his nose in EU business as well, at a news conference this past Saturday, Bush said:
"As Turkey meets the EU standards for membership, the European Union should begin talks that will lead to full membership for the republic of Turkey"
He should keep his ignorant self out of matters which do not concern him and concentrate on trying to fix the utter balls-up he made in Iraq. He has done enough damage already and I sincerely hope the American voters will put an end to increasing future chaos and mismanagement of their country and thoroughly muzzle him in the coming elections.
